Remarks
From Lieberman (1994): “Intraoccipital lobes separated from LO, topographically elevated and bulging beyond lateral margins of glabella; furrow in front of eye deep; median glabellar impressions anterior of SI developed as long lineaments running into S 1; faint furrow separates series of latitudinal striations on anterior end of cephalic border into two ridges; anterior brim of cephalon flattened ledge; anterolateral portion of LO anterior of lateral occipital lobes flexes strongly anteriorly; anterior branches of facial sutures parallel each other; 12 pygidial axial rings; posterior portion of pygidium notched in posterior view; tubercles on pygidium absent; pygidial axis with rounded terminus; interpleural furrows faint.”
From Cronier and Hosgor (2022): “…Lieberman’s (1994) generic concept of Basidechenella was rejected by Adrain (1997) mainly because Lieberman (1994) completely overlooked Pillet’s (1972) proposal of Pseudodechenella. Indeed, Pillet (1972) erected Pseudodechenella with the New York State species rowi as type. Pseudodechenella encompasses many Devonian species hitherto generally placed in the genus Basidechenella including the many Eastern North American species assigned by Lieberman (1994) to Basidechenella.”
